In order to improve and be one, our bureaucratic systems need to have exceptions to give what the law grants everyone equally to those who have not the same living conditions. In Ecuador, is your ID card. We have remote communities whose members can't apply for one because of the request documents. We are Ecuadorian but we can't prove it to the government in their regular ways. So what do we do? We die earlier because our health system is limited to natural herbs and ancestral beliefs. We kill each other because we don't know what public justice and mediation are; we work since we're eight years old because there's no school that will take me without my ID number. And even if I want to go to the closest city, to buy a bus ticket they ask me for my papers. Why are you not a citizen? they ask. Oh! it's too complicated to explain so I just sing the national hymn for the police to let me go back home.
