As September nears, it’s time to start thinking about how you can bring the Inside Out Project to students in your community! Last school year, 72 Actions happened in educational settings in 21 countries around the world. Now, it’s time for you to get involved with the Inside Out community!
Back2School brings our Photobooth truck to public schools in NYC, transforming campus walls into celebratory messages of creativity, community, and identity. For example, our Photobooth truck visited LaGuardia High School in June to celebrate technical theater majors. This fall, we want to bring our truck to five NYC public schools. Show your students the magic of Back2School!
If you are an educator in the New York City metropolitan area, reach out to us about organizing a Photobooth truck installation at your school!
Creating an Inside Out Action is a powerful tool that allows educators to spark conversation, explore new subjects, and engage students in the classroom. Our team also offers Workshops, in which we meet with classrooms over video call to chat about the Project and hear from the students about their Action.
With the help of educators around the world, the Inside Out Project developed a Curriculum that can be adapted to any age, subject, and social context. Through our interdisciplinary curriculum, students have created installations about mental health, acceptance, climate change, and so much more!

It’s been a busy summer for Inside Out Education! Most of this summer’s Photobooth Actions have been centered on education and literacy.
In July, our Photobooth truck visited the Seine-Maritime to promote literacy, with the goal of making reading accessible to as many people as possible. The Photobooth truck also visited schools in Grand Rapids, Memphis, and Oakland, capturing students in celebration of their achievements at the end of the school year.
You can read Case Studies in which educators across the world explain how they engaged students through their Education Action. Students have written interviews, journaled, and participated in Workshops during the process of their Group Action. These Case Studies provide a blueprint for how educators have utilized Inside Out in their own classrooms and communities.
