The location is an enormous abandoned art museum (The National Museum of Fine Art) that only operated for only 4 months back in 2000! It was promoted with the idea that it would exhibit 11,000 pieces of art, have high international and national importance, and have a section dedicated to Cordoba artists. The mayor, Kammerath, was so corrupt he and his friends ran off with the money and abandoned the project. It is now used as a storage for government cars. It a massive building right across the bridge from downtown and everyone knows that it is a comic/tragic symbol of the corruption that is so prevalent in Argentina. For the construction jobs, most times the budget for actual construction is reduced to less that 30% by the time everyone in the chain takes their cut of the money. this area where the museum is is destine to be a new area of lots of fancy apartments and other things so we want to remind people about its history and its promise.
