JUILLET 2017 | 52 PORTRAITS
We are a group of students from the University of Salamanca, composed by Carolina Rodríguez, Marta Baltasar, Bárbara Sogo, Marta Cerezo, Nazaret Clemente, Nerea Llorente, Laura Rodríguez and Isabel García.
We had developed the creative project Inside Out within the program of activities of "Provincia Creativa".
It is a volunteer program that aims to encourage the active participation of the university community in the cultural life of the municipalities of Salamanca. Students were able to propose workshops or cultural activities in rural areas, such as photography or painting courses, talks, guided tours, storytelling or micro-theater.
The villages of Colonization are urban nuclei built by the INC (National Institute of Colonization), after the Civil War and mainly during the 1950s in rainfed lands, expropriated to be converted into irrigation and distributed among the tenant farmers to improve the distribution of land and increase agricultural production of these lands, and in general the state. Everything motivated by the need to carry out a social and economic reform of the land, after the devastation of the Civil War. They were our pioneers.
Our objective with this project was to give more value and visibility to the colonization villages of the province of Salamanca through the people who live in them.
