For two successive years, students in Year 5 at Khartoum International Community School studied how people take action through the arts. In both years, students were inspired by JR's TED Talk challenge to use art to turn the world inside out. After much debate, the Year 5 and 6 students decided to photograph children staying in two orphanages. Our students wanted the kids at the orphanage to feel recognized, and also for members of the community to see these children's faces and recognize their humanity.
