We are a bunch of people (and we want to grow and be more) that want to promote the creation of a network of places, in different cities and even different countries with a common factor: the exchange and continuous feeding of creativity and culture. The goal of this, is “decenter” the cities, taking advantage of the cultural offers that normally are centered in downtown, spreading them to other neighbourhoods. To make an approach to every citizen, because NEITHER I LIVE IN THE CITY CENTER. Rebuild abandoned places, giving them a new use to the neighbours, making them axes of social and cultural life, injecting dynamism doses and activities on the hoods.
Our first project is taking place in Sevilla (Spain) in the Huertas de Santa Teresa neighbourhood, where is placed a market where there is only an open grocery left. We want to make the neighbours participate to keep the market alive, and we have thought in a photo exhibit in and outside the market (all over the neighbourhood), having them as protagonists.
The pics are portraits of each neighbour having a piece of fruit, eating, remembering the “Niños comiendo melón y uvas” (1650) picture of the great Murillo. With this, we will make honour to this painter born in Sevilla and also to the man who owns the grocery on the market.
