CROSS CULTURAL COLLABORATION IN GHANA, "PORTRAITS OF A FISHING VILLAGE IN GHANA"
AOÛT 2018 | 50 PORTRAITS
We would like the world to see the beautiful spirit of the people of Ghana. I have photographed the people in the fishing village of Nungua. The school children, the teachers, the neighbors, and the young men who are artists who make books from palm leaves. The weaver, the principal at the school, the potters from the Volta region, the Adinkra printer, the school administrator, the cooks, the dancers, and the girls all had a huge impact. This is a very close community. They share everything and are dependent on the support of each other. They are generous, caring, funny, creative and so very proud of their culture and excited to tell their story. This project would tie them even closer and would allow the world to see a community whose lives are difficult but they have the strength to look beyond to a brighter future.
