Our social action is "Surviving Covid in School". The École is one of the only schools in New York City that was able to stay open 5 days a week from September to June during the 2020-2021 school year without shutting down. We thank all of the adults who worked hard to make it happen and congratulate all of the children who followed protocols. We took photos of the children and all adults employed at the school with masks, without masks and asked them to provide a pose that expresses their feelings about going to school during the Covid-19 pandemic. Some students expressed their happiness and gratitude for being able to go to school, others expressed their dissatisfaction with the global pandemic overall. We would like to show what it is possible when people work together and care for one another; a celebration of community during difficult times.
