"Let the light of the artist, reflect on the whole society"
Most often we meet opinions in the society, that express the impression of distancing themselves from art in any sense, which step by step is becoming more distant from everyday’s life and instead of inspiring; it is dissected from the perspective of the citizens.
Although we would not use the term “blindfolded”, we would accept that it is an insufficient perception of reality by the institutions and the art community. And yet, in this modern times, it is due to the artist's awareness of his inability to act alone.
Currently, the situation is such that European funds are the main source of funding and very often artists enter into various programs and partnerships that require a number of conditions to be met, which raises the question of the full integrity of the artist. Many of the quality artists in our country cannot and do not want to function this way, thus being left out of the whole story.
So, what is the role of culture in the society?
What steps should be taken to inspire the artists and change the perspective of the citizens?
Art has objective possibilities to be a drive of change, it can ask the right questions, open new opportunities, encourage change, awaken society and influence the collective consciousness.
Through the motto "Let the light of the artists reflect on the whole society”, we want to unite 150 artists and cultural workers, to stand behind this message - addressed to the public and the institutions, that art exist for the people.
To raise awareness in the society about the importance of culture.
