For the past 3 years, wearing a mask has become the new normal in Hong Kong. Masks keep us safe. But they also hide our smiles. As mask mandate has been canceled, we look forward to bringing smiles back to the faces of Hong Kong citizens to our international city especially the babies and young children who have grown up in the pandemic. Now it’s time to reveal their happy faces. “Harbour and the City” is a simple and positive way to spread joy and smiles with Hong Kong and the world!

    Black and white close-up portrait has always be strongly associated with funeral or gravestone portrait in Hong Kong culture. The exhibition get lost in translation and instead looks like a memorial site of a mass shooting, a massacre or a holocaust.

    The staff at the exhibition are very friendly and positive but I don’t understand why they are wearing a mask and still not confident to be themselves even though they are encouraging the public to show their smiles.
