I am a visual arts teacher at the Innovative High School Pole (public back-to-school structure). For a year, we welcome “dropout” students from the Ile-de-France region (+ 16 years old) who wish, after a chaotic journey, to get back into school to train and build a career plan. We offer them different levers for “reconnecting”: “reverse” pedagogy, international solidarity, concrete learning or even culture and sports practices.
The idea is to regain confidence (in oneself and in the adults around them) so that a project can take shape and be built together.
We approach in class the work of JR because it allows the teaching team to offer transdisciplinary courses: From the works, we will cross plastic arts, history/geo, French, English.
The objective is to promote the cultural openness of the students by discovering different practices, encounters, etc., to promote group work (where everyone can find their place and express themselves according to their skills) by carrying out a collective production, create links between the various stakeholders and learn new techniques…
2021 is a very special year because we are integrating new premises and celebrating the 20th anniversary of our structure. The display of the portraits would make it possible to show our arrival in the district (Porte de Vanves). After this difficult period of covid, we would like to leave at the start of the school year on positive actions. Making visible our young people, many of whom have been locked up at home this year, is important to us.
The whole teaching team is on board.
