2020 was ear marked as a momentous year for Barker College. For generations, the school has been known as an all-boys College. This year first the first time ever in the school’s history we enrolled girls in year 7. Barker College decreed 2020 to be the year of Courage. The courage required to start high school and come together in unison as a coeducational school. Little did we know the challenges that 2020 would bring us all. Budding friendships were strained by isolation and the building confidence of starting at a new school, dashed. We decided as an Art Department to join the Inside Out Project, taking images of individual students in the hopes of installation their images side by side to show unity and a new collective ownership of the school. As we try to change the culture of the school, we know that Art can change the world!
