A welcoming city is a place where people has space for self-representation. A place where people can show themselves, as they really are without any judgement, and where all the diversities can be a collective wealth. This action wants to underline that cities are a space for visibility, pride to belong and joy to show ourselves. The cities are a space for intersections, where identity is a melting pot of different, fluid, changing elements.

This action is the result of focus groups and workshops between activists, local associations, youth centres and local governments of 16 Municipalities in 6 European Countries with the support of the European-Funded Project, NET-IDEA: Italy, Spain, Portugal, Sweden, Germany & Poland. NET-IDEA is promoted by ICEI, an NGO from Italy, with the support of a solid public/private partnership. The main topic of the action is to reflect on the concept of identity/ies, building up a new sense of belonging based on Diversity, Anti-Discrimination & Inclusion: cities become the space to be seen and to belong, for everybody.

The portraits will be shoot to the youngsters/activists involved in local actions of awareness on these topics within the project, as a symbol of pride and belonging.
