Los bosques de Lamas se consideran de un alto interés para la conservación global de la biodiversidad y la investigación científica , resaltando la multiculturidad de su ciudad

La comunidad nativa Wayku, actual provincia de Lamas departamento de San Martin se sitúa en la selva montañosa del Peru . Es una sociedad poco investigada, cuyo origen es producto de las olas migratorias en su mayoría grupos andinos como los Pocras y Chankas que al asentarse en dicha meseta hibridaron con la sociedad dominante de esa época los Chachapoyas.
Se sabe de escritos primarios que resaltan sus riquezas tradicionales como la cerámica , sus hilanderas e instrumentos musicales , estos elementos culturales narran historias cotidianas y mitológicas .
Es una de las zonas de mayor diversidad del Peru .
Esta comunidad se encuentra olvidada y poco reconocida por el gobierno, se le considera población vulnerable, pienso que inside out le dará a sus pobladores la oportunidad de que el mundo y en especial el Peru los reconozca por su valor histórico , multicultural y su gran aporte para la conservación del Planeta
