As I have already mentioned, to create my bachelors work, I decided to work with patients of mental hospital in Kremnica. After some difficulties with granting all necessery authorizations, I´ve been directed to a detached department, where the old people, the pensioners stay.
The "Unnoticed project" - as I have named it - interlocks closely with global project "Inside Out."
While I was visiting the facilities of the mental hospital and during the photo-shoots with the patients, I realized how grateful these people are for any small kindness. In fact, the word "gratitude" is the word that best describes the dominating emotion of these visits.
At the first meeting with the supervisor of the facility, it was necessery to do some bureaucracy in order to acquire permissions for shooting from each of the involved patients. Everything went well, so then each sound of the shutter was accompanied by joy, laughter, also tears and again - a great gratitude.
After few more visits I asked the supervisor, if it is possible to arrange an unofficial exhibition of the photographies of the patients right there at the facility. She happily agreed. I also tried to find and reserve for an exhibition some other places in Kremnica, so the "Unnoticed project" will become noticed.
During the defense of my bachelors work, I´ve been asked a question: "What do you think - how will your work effect the patients? What will they consider as a meaning of this project?" I strongly believe, that at the end of my work on this project, I will be able to answer this question.
