Liverpool Biennial, in partnership with Royal Albert Dock Liverpool, have worked with hundreds of children across Merseyside to create a call to action to prove that art can change the world. Their message? Think of Us.

Portraits of the children, taken by photographer Emma Case and audio messages, recorded by composer Sara Wolff, will be pasted on the dock walls.

Year 6 is a time of transition, as children aged 10-11 gain more independence and self-awareness as they move up to secondary school. During a series of school workshops led by Liverpool Biennial, children explored what mattered most to them in public spaces. Key themes included safety, care for shared spaces, consideration in public planning, and the negative perceptions of young people in public spaces. Think of Us, the title of our action, is a direct quote from one of the participating children and is an essential call to action.
