The coalition negotiations of the german parliament just started. We want them to change the financial situation of handicapped citizen. Their are not allowed to save more than 2600€.
Everyone, who need a assistant to do his/her daily life is forced to give all of their money (until 2600€) to the german government to pay for their own assistant. A month with an assistant costs about 7000€. So there is no chance for handicapped people to live an normal live. They can't save money for their children, for a car, annuity or anything else. Even, marrying is a problem: the partner is forced to sell valuable things, a house for example, to pay the assistant.
2013 is the year of inclusion, so we want the german government to change this inequity. We want people to think about this problem and to sign this petition: http://www.change.org/de/Petitionen/recht-auf-sparen-und-gleiches-einkommen-auch-f%C3%BCr-menschen-mit-behinderungen-2600
I'm an photography student and worked as an assitant for an handicapped women since a year.
We talked about the insideout-project in university and I was absolutly glad that I can do something. So I talked to a few handicapped persons about the insideoutproject, and we decided to make pictures and apply for prints.
Please notice: All the shown people are handicapped! They don't have a big self esteem and they can't act like other do. So it was hard work to get these pictures. They trust me and I don't want to disappoint them.
As you see, I'm a student and I don't have much money to pay for all these prints. But all the handicapped people and I hope for your support.
