From Harlem to Le Puy-en-Velay: A Generation Transforms the Vision of a Region!

The University Institute of Technology (IUT) of Le Puy-en-Velay unveils the first chapter, "Face to Face," of its "Territory Z" project, integrated into the "Inside Out" initiative by the artist JR. Through a photographic mural and a series of podcasts available on Spotify, second-year Multimedia and Internet Professions (MMI) students deconstruct prejudices about the Haute-Loire region. To showcase the region's dynamism, they bring together young people working in the digital sector with professionals from traditional and artistic fields.

DRAWING INSPIRATION FROM HARLEM

Just like Harlem, the Haute-Loire region suffers from numerous stereotypes. One hundred years ago, this New York neighborhood completely dismantled prejudices and reinvented itself thanks to an artistic explosion known as the Harlem Renaissance. Le Puy-en-Velay and its surrounding area could draw inspiration from this by implementing various initiatives within the Territoire Z project, of which Face à deux mains is the first installment. The IUT of Le Puy, affiliated with the University of Clermont Auvergne, demonstrates that our region is a true creative hub, ready to launch its own renaissance.
