Sexual Violence happens at Bowdoin College and on other college campuses. It can take place inside any building, at any field, in any parking lot, and at any time. Research suggests over 80% of sexual assault survivors know their assailant. On a campus our size they are likely to come into contact with their aggressor after the event. It can be easy to ignore that each year, students—especially women—are harassed, sexually assaulted, and raped at Bowdoin. Today, these women are taking back this campus, where many students have become survivors of sexual violence. These photographs represent the daily struggles of being a survivor at Bowdoin, and embody the solidarity that this campus needs in order to support them.
