We are the faculty and graduate students of Art History and Visual Culture at Richmond, the American International University in London, and we represent the next generation of scholars and professionals in the arts and creative industries.
At Richmond we are trained to engage critically with the arts and contemporary visual cultures and to examine them through a global, intercultural lens – vital skills in the 21st century, and particularly apt as the majority of us are international students. We all have very different personal, professional, and educational backgrounds – some of us are career changers, some of us are raising families, and some of us are just starting out – and while each of us has followed a unique path to realizing that we belong in the art world, we have all made the conscious decision to begin our journey at Richmond.
Together with our professors, who work tirelessly to equip us with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to pursue our academic and professional goals, we form a small but proud community.
Through these photographs we would like to share our passion for art, the thrill of meeting new challenges, and the sense of empowerment that comes with investing in ourselves and our futures.
