In 2015, we created Somos Uno with help from the Inside Out Project. Our goal? Show to Venezuelans that each of us is important, that we all fit in the same country and that we are more similar than our political differences can lead us to believe.
Almost two years later the situation has reached its most dangerous point: the possibility of a civil war. A scenario that the government insists on instigating through the use of brute force by the Bolivarian National Guard and the Bolivarian National Police.
So far, the number of murders during the protests is 70, while close to 2000 people have been detained for protesting peacefully against the government.
However, this has not prevented Venezuelans from maintaining on the streets demanding respect for life, their basic rights as human beings and above all: full freedom.
We are political leaders, congressmen, elders, mothers, fathers, and especially a group of young people known as The Resistance. Some of us protests with gas masks, others with rosaries, banners, the Constitution, the bible or our cameras. We, Somos Uno (We Are One) and we want the world to see it.
Become a Group Leader by organizing an Inside Out Action in your community. Gather 50 or more participants that stand behind a message you are passionate about and paste your portraits in your community.
