Here is our idea:
We want to show the multicultural diversity of Frankfurt’s central station district, the „BHFSVRTL“. The district is home to drug addicts, artists, prostitutes, Frankfurt's finance supervisors, illegal refugees, homeless people and so many others. 160 nations build the beating heart of the city. It is a district of cultural varieties, criminal milieus and obscure corners. The New York Times once said: „ The sharp contrast is its appeal“. And this is exactly what we want to communicate. The idea is to take 350-450 portraits of those people living in the „BHFSVRTL“ and expose them on all four walls in the public patio of a local Hotel. Portraits of people from the streets, from lower financial possibilities and people with different destinies will provoke interaction between locals and visitors of the district. We want to show the unknown, the unusual, unheard of and unseen faces of downtown Frankfurt. Surrounded by this „MELTING POT“ of Frankfurt we show how peacefully and harmoniously people from different religions, nations and financial statuses live in the station district „BHFSVRTL“. The space of exhibition is located in the street of furriers the so-called street of dead animals. With „SMILE THE WORLD“ we want to bring back life to this back alley and invite everyone to get to know our local and yet international inhabitants.
Become a Group Leader by organizing an Inside Out Action in your community. Gather 50 or more participants that stand behind a message you are passionate about and paste your portraits in your community.
