SITI [SOCIAL INNOVATION & SPATIAL INCURSION THROUGH IMAGINATION] is a cross-disciplinary, nomadic and multi-located urban and creative laboratory that explores the relationship between art, public space and territory to know synaesthetically the places and design new possible spatial visions.
SITI investigates the relationship between art and territory, practices and policies, field work and theoretical research, education and training, social innovation in order to re-think and re-design the space in relational terms and to activate urban and social transformation through art and culture.
SITI evokes the need to be situated in the territories - in situations "other" - to make art and culture epistemological tools to understand and act in the public space, to influence the policies and transform spaces into places, using the imagination as a method.
The first experimentation of the project is located on Lepini Mountains with the aim of being as a pilot for the activation of similar experiences in other "marginal" places giving centrality to "peripheral areas", questioning the dichotomy center-periphery and proposing a new idea of the city where urban and cultural policies, language and different rationality hybridize.
