The story I wish to tell is that of Sonia, a very special friend.
Sonia had a seemingly happy life with her partner and her son Alejandro, aged seven, had a good job and always had a smile for everyone. She was a well-loved woman. On 18 October 2010, shortly after her son’s first communion, and coincidentally on the date she informed her family and friends she was separating from her partner, Sonia never arrived at her job and just DISAPPEARED. From that day on her face was plastered across the shop windows of the city. She watched us from them with her bright eyes and usual smile. Reports in the press, the police helicopter searching for her day and night, the mobilization of citizens, all kept us hoping. But days and months went by. And as always, time is oblivion.
Soon it will be a year and a half since she disappeared. We want to remind everyone that Sonia has not returned to us, that we will probably never see her again and that the one responsible for her disappearance will not tell us where she is.
