QU'EST-CE QUE TU RESPECTES ?
SAINT-ÉTIENNE, FRANCE

This action, "What do you respect?" conducted jointly in France and Madagascar, was set up by Stéphanois artists Anne and Christophe Mathieu, ambassadors of the Inside Out Project by JR.
Both fun and educational, this action allowed children from both countries to reflect on the proposed theme.

Our action takes place in several stages:

1/ Time for reflection.
2/ Choice of one or more words representing the theme for each participant.
3/ Writing in the palm of the hand, with a black watercolor pencil, of the different key words.
4/ Shots.
5/ Reception of posters.
6/ Bonding.

It is interesting to note the differences that may exist on the notion of "Respect" between the two countries.
This work that we carried out allows the participants and all those who will see the posters to understand that the interpretation of a word may differ from one country to another.

    Hello Izzy, first of all we wish you a happy new year 2024.
    We are Anne and Christophe MATHIEU. We are artists and ambassadors for Inside Out Project by JR.
    When we set up a project, we work upstream on a theme (for example ecology, solidarity, etc.). We ask the participants what this inspires them and extract the key words which we write in the palm of their hands. Then we take their portrait. Then we stick the Inside Out Project by JR posters in a location determined in advance with the sponsor of the action.
