LOOK ME IN THE EYES/GUARDAMI NEGLI OCCHI is a timely celebration of women's power and diversity in the central Italian community of Trevi during and after Covid-19. The project records a moment when many women discovered themselves responsible for increasing childcare, home-schooling and domestic duties, whilst others were on the front line in medical assistance , home-officing, retail and volunteer activity.
Some of these women were also confined alone , separate from loved ones.
They are locally born and from all continents - a 'cittadina' is an interconnected world!
'Look Me In The Eyes' offers a selection of portraits of adult women of all ages. We wish to declare the power of women ,placing the images literally in public spaces and then, in October 2020, at Palazzo Lucarini Contemporary (component of 'Trevi: Biografia Plurale Di Una Comunita' curated by Maurizio Coccia/Mara Predicatori) to celebrate together the power of the female gaze.
