I'm Lucila Ramos, documentary photographer and Storyteller. My project "Light in the Mountains" is a series of portraits that invites modern societies to question, through photographs, the importance of indigenous communities for our existence. The portraits are of women on the frontlines of the EZLN (Zapatista Army of National Liberation) a protest movement against the Mexican Government that was born in southeastern Mexico, in the State of Chiapas. These brave women, with their faces covered with a balaclava, fight for equality, the right to life and liberty. It is essential to protect indigenous peoples and respect fundamental rights.
