"The Faces of the Francophonie" is a participatory contribution of the Alliance Française to the celebration of the Francophonie. This series of portraits exhibited in public spaces, in the well-known "Inside Out" format, mobilizes around twenty Alliances Françaises on 5 continents. A new opportunity for the Alliances Françaises of the world to resonate with the humanist message that has driven them for over 140 years. The Fondation des Alliances Françaises is doing its part in this, in Paris where the 19th Summit of the Francophonie is being held. An invitation to take the full measure of what it means to belong to a vast and diverse French-speaking area. Under the impetus of the New York Alliance, which launched the project on Madison Avenue, the Alliance Française community shares its smiling, curious, and complicit faces in Brisbane, Cochabamba, Halifax, Moncton, Montreal, Bogota, Medellin, Havana, Tetovo, Ulaanbaatar, The Hague, Cartagena, New Orleans, Portland, Miami, Luanda, Banská Bystrica, Bethlehem, Rosario, San Francisco, Cusco, Caracas, and Maracaibo...

As part of the “Refaire le monde” Festival and the European Heritage Days, the Faces of the Francophonie are invited to the Fondation des Alliances Françaises and the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs. Come and discover them from September 19 on the facade of the historic Alliance Française building at 101 bd Raspail, or on September 21 and 22 at the Hôtel du ministre at 37 Quai d’Orsay for the Heritage Days.
