L’Empreinte: 6000 stories to share
The City wanted to create a new exhibition trail aimed at conveying the history of the city of Cormeilles from different angles: demography, urban planning, daily life... The name L’Empreinte evokes both the trace we leave in history, the one we imprint in the soil (in connection with the notion of territory), but also the digital footprint specific to each person (the trail will emphasize the history of the inhabitants). The subtitle 6000 stories to share refers to the first known settlements of Cormeilles, which date back to the Neolithic period. "Story(ies)" the major historical periods and events, but also individual and family stories, anecdotes, narratives...
For the inauguration, at the end of May 2025, the public (especially young people and families) will be able to explore the Cormeillais territory and discover its great and small stories. Evolution of landscapes, moments in the lives of inhabitants at different times, archaeological discoveries, etc.: various themes will be addressed in an educational, fun and interactive journey. Through this space, we want to highlight the History of a city and show that this History is not fixed. It continues to evolve with its populations. L’Empreinte will also be a place for activities, exhibitions, workshops and intimate shows. To celebrate the opening of L’Empreinte, an inauguration weekend is planned for 24-25/05/25. In addition to discovering the place, the public will be able to enjoy festive activities, around the themes of the link to the territory and individual and collective stories.
