INSIDE OUT INSPIRED ACTION:
The Alternative School for Math & Science (ASMS) announced the 20th anniversary of providing exceptional education for middle school students in the Southern Tier region of New York. Established in 2003, the school’s unique, research-based learning approach is focused on developing the whole child in an academically supportive and challenging environment.

Since opening its doors to 20 students in January 2004, ASMS has served a diverse community of 862 students
from 19 school districts and a range of learning profiles and backgrounds. Today, the school has grown
significantly to serve ~140 middle school students each year. This project exemplifies how ASMS has impacted the lives of adolescents who have been a part of the ASMS school culture and celebrates our alumni through multiple dimensions of "then & now" portraits.
