HAPPY TOGETHER (TAIWAN OFF AVIGNON)

In the past 17 years, Taiwan has selected 4 Taiwanese performing art teams yearly to participate in the Festival Off Avignon, an important international performance platform in France. As this year officially enters its 18th year, Taiwan was invited by the Association du Festival Off d'Avignon to become the first guest country of the festival. As a loyal member of the Festival Off Avignon, Taiwan is honored to present our diverse art and culture, such as film, literature, visual art, and traditional puppetry, in addition to the performances it presents in Avignon.

On this special occasion, we hope to join JR's global art co-creation program to send a key message: Art is Love. Although Taiwan is diplomatically isolated from the international community, it continues to be widely acclaimed in the art world. In art, everyone is equal and free. In art, whether we are Taiwanese, French, Vietnamese, American, Ethiopian, etc., we are free to express ourselves. We firmly believe that only art can express the true value of human beings, and only art can make everyone free. In addition to equality for all, freedom and love are also important values for the Taiwanese.

Thus, along with the celebration of its 30th anniversary, the Centre Culturel de Taïwan à Paris (CCTP) teamed up with THE Association du Festival Off d'Avignon, Plan b Inc., and most importantly the Inside Out Project for a portrait art installation project, joining hands to share our common values and to be happily together.
