As part of the Olympic Games, the network of media libraries wishes to highlight sport and culture between April and June 2024.

The project, led by librarians, is to take photos of local athletes (amateurs or professionals) and to promote their cultural practices. The photos would be stuck on the walls of the 14 media libraries and 12 towns of the Paris-Vallée de la Marne agglomeration community for the duration of the project. They could be visible during the games near the events.

It is important for librarians to establish links with amateur or professional athletes, users or not of media libraries, by bringing culture outside the walls of media libraries to meet the public and create dialogue between culture and sport.

With this project, we make the direct link with the ambitions of Pierre de Coubertin who in an article entitled "The Roman Olympiad" published in 1904 proclaimed that "the time has come to take a new step and restore the Olympiad in its primary beauty by harmoniously combining letters and the arts with sport to ensure the greatness of the Olympic Games. »
