We work in the "welcome classes" of the Ecole de l'Accueil, made up of students aged 16 to 25, with a migration background and coming from a multitude of different countries, thus mixing cultures, languages , religions and customs. They have been in Switzerland for a few months, sometimes with their families, sometimes alone. They all have a different life story, a past that belongs to them but with the common denominator of the desire to start a new life in Switzerland. They take courses in French, maths, geography, vocational guidance but also sports and artistic subjects (drawing, music, manual work and sewing). They generally stay in our school between 12 and 18 months with the aim of defining their professional or training project.
The idea of our group action is to show that these young people are part of the city, of life in French-speaking Switzerland and that their presence here is an asset for all those who cross their path and to reinforce a positive image of this public little or badly known.
We would therefore like to be able to display these portraits of students in the city center of Lausanne.
