“Affective communities that promote wellbeing and gender violence prevention”
CUIDAR A QUIENES CUIDAN
SAN SALVADOR DE JUJUY, ARGENTINA
NOVEMBER 2021 | 9 PORTRAITS
Our Action is about creating neighborhood scenarios through giant pictures with the faces of the people who care for others. They will be strategically placed in 5 different sectors of the city creating a route of community leaders' faces.
We propose to show the human values we see every day in a community, showing life stories of people whose action and commitment transform the present and help construct a violence-free society.
We will carry out 5 photographic interventions in 5 neighborhoods of the city of San Salvador de Jujuy: Alto Comedero, Alberdi, Barrio Norte and two central spaces. Each intervention will visualize the 9 leaders chosen for the project.
From Crear Vale la Pena we promote social management in the territory. A human, sensitive, conscious and participative way of organizing and involving popular knowledge and values within the neighbourhood. These actions show the real value of community members through their life stories, proposing a helpful and affective environment. They also promote daily actions in community wellbeing and violence mitigation, inviting a reorganization process through an active and responsible citizenship.
This proposal is carried as the closure of the project: “Play devices for public spaces: El Escuchadero”. Government officials from 20 neighborhoods will be in charge of selecting the community members to display.
The project will begin on November 25th of 2021, as the celebration of the International Day Against women's violence. The selected community members will be also participating as “Human Books”, sharing their stories with other members of the community.
