In 2024, the municipality of Chorges wishes to work on the reappropriation of public spaces and the requalification of its village center, by placing residents, all generations combined, at the heart of this development. At the same time, the school's 300 students are involved in an eco-mobility project and the use of active and shared modes of travel which invite them to walk or cycle to school and therefore reinvest the street, in all its dimensions. As such, a “street for children – street for all” is organized over 3 days from April 18 to 20, 2024, encouraging people to make public spaces more attractive, accessible to all, play and wander freely, exchange and cultivate intergenerational links. . The media library, carrying a rich cultural program whose theme of “family” and “childhood memories” resonates through several artistic proposals, wishes to use Street Art as a privileged medium to unite and transmit the universal values of freedom, equality, fraternity, but also question: what does “living together” mean? What is a “public space”? what was it like before? what childhood memories do we have here and there? what place for art and poetry in the street?
So, from April 9, residents are invited in front of the lens, in the street from 18 to 20. They are invited to share their memories or wishes for living here and together. Then, we will organize the collage of the portraits during a participatory project. Finally from mid-June, we will all be able to look up at these portraits, an invitation to surprise encounters!
