Woodbury is important, and the children of Woodbury are most important, these children are important because they are, children of color, Latinos, LGBTQ, almost 50% children of color, and they are a representation of the unity and diversity of our city. In 2020 I saw this community come together, in a representation of the people in support of 'Black Lives Matter'. I feel we can create that diverse unity again. We propose to photograph the children in our community schools, starting with elementary school, were children are more naive about the cynicism of the world. We plan with the help of the South Jersey Artist Collective, a local non profit, to photograph this children outside, and 6 feet away (for COVID-19 safety). We intend to ask the children and film their responses to the question 'Why do black lives matter'. With the completion of the acceptance and printing we intend to present to the community via a family event, the images and the videos, at the local schools, we will paint a wall with the phrase "Why do black lives matter?" and chalk to fill in the audience responses. On our opening day which can occur within the COVID-19 restrictions, we hope to host and outside 'family day', where the city and its businesses show their support. Food, art, diversity, and inclusivity.
