"AM I OK?" project is organized by seven students of Ewoo high school in South Korea and a graduate student who studies in Paris. We took portraits of students and teachers of Ewoo high school.
"WHO AM I?"
We have constantly asked ourselves who am I, what do I have to do, and what am I living for. We have always agonized over the questions and wanted to answer the questions distinctly.
"AM I OK?"
But, as high school students who go to school in South Korea,
as Koreans who live in Korean society,
or just as people who live in this world,
we have always felt tight about finding who am I.
In the school we are going, In the society we have to get a job in the future, in the world that we are living, people are considering too much how others think about them. And that's not only about other people but also about us. We always worry about how others will think about what are we saying, doing, and wearing. In this kind of situation, we don't ask the first question anymore. We ask 'how others will judge us' and 'Am I ok or not' instead of 'what do I want to do' and 'who am I.'
We lost questions swayed by the school, the society, and the world.
"WHY DON'T YOU SHOUT?"
However, we have to go back to the initial, important, and necessary questions. So, 'why don't you shout?' is the real question that we want to ask you.
Through the question, we want to ask you these things : What makes you not to shout? What makes you hesitate to do what you love and say who you are? And now, How about shouting something inside of you?
Become a Group Leader by organizing an Inside Out Action in your community. Gather 50 or more participants that stand behind a message you are passionate about and paste your portraits in your community.
