Cities are more important for human happiness than ever before. A city should be a fun place, not a place that people try to escape. We need to work together to create happy public spaces in our cities. A city should promote happiness!
This action promotes happiness as a tool to create better cities, and commemorates the United Nation's International Day of Happiness on March 20th (3/20).
Each action requires the collection of 100 portraits of "Happiness Rebels" in each participating city. These portraits will be pasted as "Happy Places" in a diverse set of spaces selected by our teams around the world. Our goal is to collect 3,200 portraits before March 20, 2016 for a large installation at the United Nations to celebrate the International Day of Happiness.
Our first action took place at the launch event for the World Happiness Report in New York City. The next participating city is Pereira, Colombia, where Happiness Activists will support the collection of 200 portraits. These portraits will be displayed in public spaces including buses, schools, bus stations, and over designated walls thanks to the support of the local government and an amazing group of community organizations that share our believe in the power of happiness to generate positive collective social change.
Become a Group Leader by organizing an Inside Out Action in your community. Gather 50 or more participants that stand behind a message you are passionate about and paste your portraits in your community.
