The City of Wilton Manors, in Broward County, Florida has a population of approximately
12,000 and is just slightly more than 2.6 square miles in size. Known as the “Island City”
because its boundaries are the North and South Forks of the Middle River, locals and tourists
alike enjoy kayaking, canoeing, boating and navigating stand-up paddleboards – literally –
around the City! When the daytime fun comes to an end the City really heats up with its world famous
entertainment district, with top-notch restaurants, nightclubs, art galleries, shopping,
and more. According to Benjamin Little, author of “Wilton Manors: From Farming Community
to Urban Village”, “from the 1940’s we have been a focused community, fortunate in both our
elected and appointed officials, and our volunteers”, realizing a long time ago that the real
building blocks of our community are the people that live, work and play on the “Island City”.
Wilton Manors is a city in Broward County, Florida, which is embarking on a year-long journey to celebrate 100 years of history through the arts and culture of its residents.
Broward 100 commemorates Broward County’s centennial with bold, innovative art and performance projects that attract visitors and bring Broward residents together using our arts, sports and recreation venues, natural attractions and incredible diversity to creatively bridge, bond and build their communities.
