Inside Out Derry is a chance to make some real change in the City of Derry, Northern Ireland. It is a chance to celebrate the local people of the city who are the beating heart of our city, our communities, and our local culture. We want to take back our public spaces, for local people by the local people.
This project is a celebration of people and place, a chance to stand out against racism, bigotry, and sectarian divides that exist here in Northern Ireland. With the current Brexit debate and the ongoing violence and trouble, we need to bring the community together through the inside-out project. It is an opportunity to bring together people from all walks of life and all backgrounds, from different communities, geographical areas, and religions.
The project wants to connect people from across the city, to enrich our lives and the lives of others of all ages in the city bringing an intergenerational connection this we see is existing in our communities. Covid 19 pandemic has had severe effects on our local communities and using online content, imagery, and street paste ups we can connect people together again, by creating an outdoor gallery and source of positivity we can make a change to the dynamics of spaces throughout the city that encourages people to outdoors and engaging with the walls and artwork across our the city.
