“Grow and develop from its roots to better respect our Mother Nature.”
LE CATEAU-CAMBRÉSIS, FRANCE
MARCH 2022 | 80 PORTRAITS
“Gaia” as the key word. We try to make the students of our college (REP) aware of their environment, starting from a simple observation: "We better protect what we know".
In this desire to return to the sources, to our nourishing mother who is the Earth, it appeared as an obvious link to share this idea of respect for the environment with the people who came from our past: the residents of the EHPAD neighbor. Indeed, these people symbolize our roots, with which we should grow more, communicate in order to take into account their experiences to advance but also to assimilate the values of Respect & Sharing.
Many of our students come from a difficult family situation where root loss is glaring. We see them grow, like a tree of life that sometimes wavers for lack of a solid benchmark. This is also why our project is very important to us.
"Gaia" is originally an awareness of nature, of our environment, but it appears to be much broader and deeper. All the participants in our project will be the portraits / witnesses of this exchange between generations (students, teachers, residents), each one will be the bearer of a small seed within him that will develop at some point in his life.
The goal here for everyone is to reconnect with their past, present & future. Give back meaning to school as a place of exchange & development.
I thus hope that the actors in this project, but also the spectators, will also become actors in their lives and in the world of tomorrow by acting with their families but also with themselves. Respecting nature means respecting yourself and your loved ones.
