My Face, Our Place cuts through social divisions and celebrates diversity and humanity in Derby, Western Australia.
Derby is a small remote town in the Kimberley region of North Western Australia.
There are deep social divides in Derby and because of its remote location there is a large population of fly in, fly out workers. The Kimberley’s has the highest rates of youth suicide in Australia. My Face, Our Place initially developed out of a desire to see positive community messages being communicated through public art.
My Face, Our Place Project was inspired by the global, international success of the Inside Out Project.
